Génération Lumière at the European Parlement
Team Congo accompanied the association Génération Lumière in a crucial debate highlighting how global tech and green energy industries fuel the ongoing genocide in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The discussion called for concrete action - including an embargo on Rwanda-labelled minerals, the termination of the Rwanda-EU trade deal, and the suspension of military and financial support to Kigali. This initiative contributed to a European Parliament resolution later adopted in February 2025, urging the European Commission to withdraw its memorandum of understanding on sustainable raw material value chains with the Rwandan government.
