Why Team Congo

For too long, Congo’s story has been told by others - distorted, silenced, or erased. Team Congo was born out of a simple but powerful conviction: the Congolese people must reclaim their narrative and build a movement that unites voices across generations and continents.

We launched Team Congo to connect, inform, and empower. Behind every number, every tragedy, and every act of resistance, there are human stories - stories of strength, dignity, and hope. Our mission is to make these stories visible, to break the silence surrounding the ongoing tragedy in Congo, and to mobilize collective action for justice, development, and healing.

For more than 30 years, millions of Congolese lives have been taken in one of the deadliest conflicts since World War II - a crisis driven by global greed, exploitation of minerals, and political complicity. Yet, the world remains indifferent. Team Congo stands as a response to this silence.

We believe that truth is the first step toward freedom. Through education, storytelling, and solidarity, we aim to restore Congo’s rightful place in global consciousness - not as a land of suffering, but as the heart of African resilience, development, and rebirth.
