Back to Education is an initiative dedicated to improving the learning conditions of schools in Congo. For too long, children specially in Eastern Congo have been forced to learn in overcrowded, unsafe, and under-resourced classrooms ā€” if they are able to attend school at all.
Our goal is to transform this reality by creating a safe, supportive, and inspiring environment where every child has the chance to learn, grow, and dream. Beyond books and classrooms, we want to restore hope and dignity, remindingĀ our children that education is not a privilege but their fundamental right and the key to a brighter future.

When School Becomes a Struggle
Years of ongoing genocide and war of occupation have left deep scars on Eastern Congo, and schools have not been spared. Many classrooms lie in ruins, roofs have collapsed, and basic infrastructure is crumbling. Resources are almost non-existent ā€” children often sit on the floor without books or pencils, while teachers struggle to continue their work without pay, training, or proper tools.
What should be a place of safety and hope has become a place of hardship. For countless families, the dream of education is slipping away. Yet, education is not a luxury ā€” it is a fundamental right, and it is the foundation for peace, dignity, and a brighter future. Today, that right is under severe threat.
